Thrusters

Some significant particularities of our thrusters.

  • 100% Security.
  • 90% Reduction on Maintenance.
  • Operation Depth – 950-1500-3000 mt. (option 6000mt.)

No mechanical seal or gasket is present on the propeller axis. The traction of the propeller axis, takes place with a high efficiency permanent magnet coupling.

  • 100% safety to water penetration.
  • Maintenance is reduced by 90%. (Compared to mechanical seals or systems that have gaskets on the axis)

Absence of the pressure compensator.

  • No oil expansion problem, due to high temperature.
  • No oil leakage.
  • No adjustment or checking of the oil level must be performed.
  • Reduced timing of pre dive and post dive check.
  • Zero maintenance. (Compared to mechanical seals or systems that have gaskets on the axis)
  • The use of Hibryd or fully ceramic bearings, guarantee a long working life on rotating parts exposed to salt water.
  • Our thrusters, are interchangeable with most of the thrusters on the world market.
    (example but not limiting; Seaeye SM5-6-7 – Subatlantic SPE180 -Technadyne 1060)

Examples of ordinary maintenance. (same for all models)

  • Cleaning the inside of the rotating bell/propeller bearings: Periodicity 3-4 days. Estimated time 5min.
  • Propeller bearings and V-seals gasket replacement: Periodicity as needed. Estimated time 15min.
  • Dielectic oil change: Periodicity every 1000 hours of motion. Estimate time 10 min.

The frequencies reported to perform maintenance are indicative and may vary depending on the operating conditions in which the thruster is used.
The intervention times reported are purely indicative, non-binding and dependent on whoever performs them

NEW – K40 and K60

In the new ones K40 and K60 thrusters, we wanted to unify and to maximize their compatibility.
The result of this “fusion” allowed an interchangeable components of 80%.

The advantages can be summarized as follows:

  • Same size and weights.
  • Simplified spare parts management.
  • Reduction of investments on spare parts.
  • Unification of maintenance procedures therefore, maintenance personnel are taking advantage of it.
  • The equipment and tools for ordinary maintenance, are the same for both models.
  • Last but not least, all this has led to a slight reduction in production costs and therefore, a benefit to the customer.

Other.

  • At customer’s request, you can reconfigure the parameters of the electronic protections, and control of spin and brake ramps.
  • Very low noise level.
  • Sensitive reduction of the amount of mechanical parts of the thruster.
  • No external screw for closing the tin case. Therefore reducing Galvanic corrosion points.
  • Possibility to attach the thrusters to the ROV frame, either with the Kort Nozzle or with the Bracket.

  • Body / End cap: Anticorodal hard anodized thickness of 40 μ
  • Propeller shaft: Stainless Stell 316.
  • Fixed bell: Stainless Steel.  Rotating bell: Anticorodal hard anodized thickness of 40 μ. And Staninless Steel.
  • Ogive: Zinc.
  • End cap andod:Zinc.
  • Kort Nozzle: Thermoplastic polymer.
  • Screw: Stainless Steel 316

Motors

  • DC Brushless motors 2.0 Kw.
  • Voltage: 250-500VDC. (other Voltages on request)

Propeller and Nozzle

  • Propellers: 6 blades.
  • The nozzle has been optimized for maximum efficiency of the propeller thrust.

Underwater Connector

  • Standard worldwide manufactures connectors. (metallic or rubber)

Control Board

  • 4 Layer technology PCB.
  • Digital diagnostic interface.
  • High flexibility interface; Serial 485; Canbus; PWM; Analog +-5V. +-10V.
  • Motor electronic protection: Over Voltage; Under Voltage; Over current; Max temperature.
  • Speed feedback to Hall sensors.
  • Control of spin and brake ramps. (on request adjustable)
